So i understand that probably nobody in guild listens / likes or has even HEARD of most of the music that i listen to. BUT..... i picked up Blessthefall's new CD today......and wow. It's quite amazing, and i believe that people need to open their minds to new things and try to like it instead of shunning it because its different. Modern Hardcore, Post-hardcore, viking metal, Finnish Folk Metal (no... srsly), emo, screamo, metalcore, deathcore, deathmetal, have deeper meanings that ppl fail to see because they hear 5 sec and just be liek "OHHEJUSTSCREAM INTO MIC ANYONE CAN DO THAT /hannah montana"
Well anyway heres a couple that are / were my fav songs
<--- finnish folk metal
but yea, inb4 EMO FAG
and so this thread doesnt get deleted for being non wow related:
I find the older I get the less enamored I am with the heavier stuff, though I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with it.

"I tell you, those voices soared; higher and farther than anybody in a gray place dares to dream. It was like some beautiful bird flapped into our drab little cage and made those walls dissolve away. And for the briefest of moments, every last man at Shawshank felt free.
I find I'm naturally drawn away from "screamo" music, possibly because I grew up with younger sisters who would constantly whine and scream and being soft spoken myself, it bothers me to listen to it. I find nothing wrong with people singing this way if that's what they like, and won't belittle it, just not my particular cup of tea. I wouldn't enjoy going to a heavy death metal concert. I like to sing to what I'm listening to, and I can't scream so it's much less fun
I liked most of those songs minus the screaming, go figure. XD Actually, the Finnish one was fine, but the music video made me laugh too so it was fun. I liked the first one you linked best.
I have a very wide range of interests though, and generally I enjoy music if it's not too explicitly stupid.

So, in keeping with the heavier theme, here's some really excellent selections that fall on that side of things.
First, you simply can't go wrong with anything off of Nine Inch Nail's Broken. This was their "angry" album that Trent wrote to fulfill his contractual obligation to a record company he hated and he didn't care a lick about deviating from the relatively mellow Pretty Hate Machine.
"Wish there was something real, wish there was something true."
And you know a song he wrote specifically for the film Natural Born Killers is going to have a bit of an edge.
"Something inside of me has opened up its eyes. Why did you put it there? Did you not realize?
And of course, as an evolved super music genius, he can still bring it in inspired concept albums like Year Zero.
"I've got propaganda, I've got revisionism. I've got my violence in high def ultra-realism. All a part of this great nation!"
Ok, that's a lot of intensity. Let's start to dial it back a bit.
"My life it seems has taken a turn. Why in the name of God would I ever want to return?"
"If you look at your reflection, is it all you want it to be? What if you could look right through the cracks? Would you find yourself... find yourself afraid to see?"
"Blood hardens in the sand. Cold metal in my hand. Hope you understand the way that things are gonna be. There's nowhere left to hide, 'cause God is on our side... I keep telling myself."
"I still recall the taste of your tears..."

I'm always a big fan of video game-related music and remixes of such. Strangely enough, I rarely care what the resulting genre of the remix is in (though if the original was meant to be something that gets your adrenaline pumping, like a boss battle theme, I'm disappointed if the remix attempts to do so and falls short).
Note, I recommend if the HQ/HD option isn't available, open it in youtube and add &fmt=18 to the URL to force it into HQ mode.
